Sheep grazing on the meadows of . . .



Highclere Castle, west and south of London, where the popular PBS Masterpiece series "Downton Abbey" is filmed.

The trees on this estate are magnificent. Any one of could supply a enough wood for a Pennsylvania or Montana winter. Our day there was overcast, but we spent six hours touring the manor house, the grounds, and enjoying a lunch and picking the blackberries there.

No, no sign of Lady Violet, the Earl, or Carson the butler.
